Please note that a lapse in appropriations has caused GAO to shut down its operations. Therefore, GAO will not be able to publish reports or otherwise update this website until GAO resumes operations. In addition, the vast majority of GAO personnel are not permitted to work.  IAT supports congressional oversight to advance and protect U.S. foreign policy and international economic interests in a complex and challenging global environment.  

IAT engagements cover a broad range of international topics within four key issue areas: Countering Overseas Threats, Bilateral and Multilateral Foreign Assistance, Security Assistance, International Trade and Finance, and U.S. Diplomatic Presence and Management.
