Status of Budget Authority Proposed for Rescission

Highlights

GAO reviewed the status of an unreported withholding of $30 million provided for the immigrant education assistance program. This withholding had been reported to Congress in March 1984 as a budget authority rescission proposal under the Impoundment Control Act.
