Radio Marti

GAO commented on the U.S. Information Agency's Bureau of Broadcasting's plans to enhance its Radio Marti program review process. GAO noted that: (1) the Bureau plans to create an external program review committee to evaluate Radio Marti broadcast standards similar to the committee created to evaluate TV Marti; (2) the Bureau plans to move a program review unit from the Office of Voice of America Programs to coordinate the program review process for Radio and TV Marti; and (3) when fully implemented, these actions will help management monitor Radio Marti news and programs for compliance with broadcast standards.
