U.S. Army Materiel Command 1. The Commanding General, U.S. Army Material Command (AMC), should clarify existing guidance to specifically require the major subordinate commands to base requirements for depot maintenance programs on the latest information available at the time memorandums of agreement are prepared.
Closed - Implemented
A new regulation, "Depot Maintenance Memorandum of Agreement," was issued on August 21, 1991. It contained a schedule to ensure all actions to produce fully coordinated depot maintenance memorandums of agreement are accomplished before the start of the fiscal year. GAO plans to review last year's requirements for depot programs to see if they have been based on the latest data in the regulation.
