The Deputy Chief of Staff for Personnel has been given the authority and responsibility to develop a coordinated staff position and publish regulatory guidance outlining responsibilities for all agencies involved in the integration effort.

Army Regulation 602-2, Manpower and Personnel Integration (MANPRINT), in the Materiel Acquisition Process, was approved on July 21, 1986 and distributed to Army major commands for their use. Also, a MANPRINT procedural guide was published in July 1986. MANPRINT has also been established as a source selection criteria for all new systems acquisitions solicited after June 27, 1986.
