VA Appropriations

Pursuant to a legislative requirement, GAO reviewed several actions taken by the Director of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) to comply with Department of Veterans Affairs' (VA) appropriation legislation and disburse appropriated funds for three VA medical accounts. GAO found that OMB provided: (1) timely written certification that addressed the appropriation legislation; (2) the correct amount of personnel funds to the three VA medical accounts; and (3) employment authorizations consistent with fiscal year 1994 funding levels.
