Matter for Congressional Consideration
Matter | Status | Comments |
---|---|---|
Congress should limit assistance allowances to veterans in apprenticeship and OJT programs to the differences between the wages veterans earn while in training and their objective wages. | The Committee members were not interested in pursuing the recommendation. GAO believes that there is little likelihood of future action because the potential savings decreases each year as the number of veterans eligible for the program declines. Unless the law is changed, most of the program will end in 1989. |
