Highlights

Reconsideration of a claim was requested for damages to a shipment of firebricks. A prima facie case of carrier liability for concealed damage was established where damage to shipment of firebrick shapes was discovered 5 days after delivery. A photograph showed shipment boxes with work interiors; receiver's signed statement indicated visual inspection upon receipt and immediately after discovery of damage. The carrier's claim for 50 percent of amount administratively deducted was disallowed.
