GAO provided a summary of its testimony on gasoline octane mislabelling. GAO found that: (1) responsible federal agencies had not established systems to prevent mislabelling; (2) the extent of mislabelling nationwide is unknown, and (3) not all motor fuels are covered by the applicable law.
