Claim for VA Mortgage Loan

Property purchased from the Veterans Administration (VA) in November 1966  was sold in November 1976, with the VA quoting $7,150.35 left on the loan. The VA subsequently discovered the correct amount due was actually $11,603.70. GAO was asked to determine whether the Government has a valid claim for $4,412.40, the difference between what was in fact due on the loan and the amount quoted by the Government.

 

It is GAO's opinion that a valid claim in the amount of $4,412.40 exists.
