[Protest of Army Contract Award for Levee Construction]
B-254461.2: Dec 30, 1993
- Full Report:
A firm protested the Army Corps of Engineers' rejection of its bid and subsequent contract award for levee construction, contending that the Corps should have sought additional information before rejecting its individual sureties. GAO held that the: (1) Corps reasonably rejected the protester's sureties, since there was doubt about their integrity and credibility; (2) protester failed to demonstrate that the Corps unreasonably rejected its sureties as unacceptable; (3) Corps was not required to seek further information on the sureties or to consider their other assets, since there was doubt about their integrity and credibility; and (4) Corps reasonably rejected the protester's bid as nonresponsive. Accordingly, the protest was denied.
