Highlights

A firm requested reconsideration of its dismissed protest against a Navy contract award for remanufacture and modernization of aircraft salvage cranes. GAO had held that the protester untimely filed its agency-level protest more than 10 days after it knew the basis of protest. In its request for reconsideration, the protester contended that its protest was timely, since it reasonably believed that the Navy was considering issuing a new solicitation. GAO held that the: (1) protester's contention was without merit, since the Navy indicated that the awardee's bid met the solicitation's requirements; and (2) protester did not present any evidence that would warrant reversal or modification of the original decision. Accordingly, the request for reconsideration was denied.
