Reimbursement of Title Insurance Expenses for a Transferred Employee

An advance decision is requested concerning the propriety of reimbursing an IRS employee for expenses of title insurance incurred in connection with a transfer. Because the employee was required to obtain the title insurance to obtain financing, he may be reimbursed for the insurance, even though Federal Travel Regulations allow mortgage title insurance but disallow owner's title insurance.
