Time Limitation on Reimbursement for Real Estate Expenses

An employee requested review of a settlement disallowing his claim for reimbursement of real estate expenses incurred incident to the purchase of a residence at his new official station. The employee was not entitled to reimbursement of the real estate expense since final settlement on the purchase did not occur within either the time limitation prescribed by the travel regulation in effect at the time of the employee's transfer nor that prescribed by the travel regulation in effect at the time of settlement.
