Highlights

A Federal employee sought redress under the Meritorious Claims Act for an amount which he alleged was the loss he suffered as the result of an error on the part of the Government. The claim for the difference between the amount obtained for his house and furnishings and the cost of replacing them, plus rent for a period following his eviction from Government housing, did not contain such elements of legal liability or equity as to be deserving of consideration by Congress under the act even though the decision to sell his house and furnishings may have been induced by the improper and subsequently revoked assignment of Government housing.
