A decision was requested on the propriety of paying expenses incurred by an employee in traveling for an interview in connection with a potential transfer. The employee was on leave when he departed for temporary duty so he was only entitled to the difference between the cost attributable to temporary duty and what it cost him to return directly to headquarters from the place of leave.
