Highlights

A decision was requested on the propriety of paying active duty pay and allowances to an Air Force officer subsequent to his appointment as a notary public in the State of Ohio. Although a notary public in Ohio is a civil position, it is doubtful that the officer forfeited his Air Force commission by accepting the appointment, and he may continue to receive military pay and allowances.
