Use of Statistical Sampling Techniques

Statistical sampling techniques, properly applied, can contribute significantly to obtaining reliable analyses in our audit work with a reduction in manpower. These techniques also enable us to project our findings with precision and confidence. This pamphlet described some alternative plans that could also have been used with additional savings in manpower. This material is being distributed to highlight the usefulness of these techniques and to encourage wider use of them, where appropriate, in our audit work.
