Comments on Whether USIA Properly Used Certain Grants for Agency Projects

GAO commented on whether the United States Information Agency (USIA) improperly used funds from federal grants for agency projects that were not completed within the allotted time of the grant agreements. GAO held that there was no basis for questioning the legality or propriety of the grants, and that the entire amounts stipulated in the grant agreements were properly chargeable to USIA's 1954 appropriations.
