Description

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) performs critical functions to ensure safe and efficient air travel. Effective air traffic control relies on automated systems to provide information to users responsible for the movement of aircraft. Faced with growing air traffic and aging equipment, GAO and Congress have raised concerns about delays in modernizing FAA's systems and realizing the associated benefits, such as efficiency and safety gains.
