GAO discussed the incurred costs of the President's Task Force on National Health Care Reform as of March 9, 1995. GAO noted that: (1) although it has received cost data from the 10 agencies that contributed to the task force and its related groups, the data are incomplete; (2) the 10 agencies reported spending about $9.6 million on task force matters, with about $3.5 million spent on developing the Administration's health care reform proposal, $5.8 million on preparing the Administration's health care reform legislation, and over $300,000 on matters relating to an unresolved court case; and (3) none of the agencies reported on possible future costs resulting from the court case or other possible litigation.
