From 1962 to 1973, a land exchange program was conducted in New Mexico with Bureau of Land Management lands. Land exchanges are generally initiated by citizens filing proposals to exchange private lands for public lands. This report includes information on: (1) the Bureaus exchange and appraisal procedures; (2) the lands transferred and received; and (3) the involvement of third parties in land exchanges.
