Highlights

Pursuant to a congressional request, GAO provided a summary of its work on the Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) and other related agencies involved in BPA system operations since the enactment of the Pacific Northwest Electric Power Planning and Conservation Act. GAO noted that its work: (1) included recommendations for agency actions and how the agency responded to the recommendations; and (2) concerned issues of financial management, endangered species, resource acquisition, irrigation, electricity transmission, administration, nuclear power plant construction, and utility rates.
