Homelessness: Implementation of Food and Shelter Programs Under the McKinney Act

Pursuant to a legislative requirement, GAO evaluated the: (1) Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) and the Department of Housing and Urban Development's (HUD) purchase of goods and services prior to implementation of the Homeless Assistance Act; (2) status of actions HUD and FEMA are taking pursuant to the act; and (3) issues concerning the act that may warrant more detailed consideration.
