Highlights

Pursuant to a congressional request, GAO provided information on government-wide costs related to the President's Task Force on Health Care Reform. GAO noted that: (1) 10 agencies were involved in Task Force's activities, at a total cost of about $13.8 million between January 1993 and January 1995; (2) the Small Business Administration (SBA) may have had some involvement in Task Force-related activities, but SBA reported no costs in connection with the Task Force; and (3) the accuracy of the reported costs could not be verified, since the agencies did not allocate costs to the Task Force effort.
