Highlights

GAO reviewed the Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection' (Bureau) new rule on integrated mortgage disclosures under the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (Regulation X) and the Truth in Lending Act (Regulation Z). GAO found that (1) the final rule establishes new disclosure requirements and forms for most closed-end consumer credit transactions secured by real property and provides extensive guidance regarding compliance with those requirements; and (2) other than the 60-day delay requirement, the Bureau complied with the applicable requirements in promulgating the rule.
