GAO reviewed the Department of Labor, Occupational Safety and Health Administration's (OSHA) new rule on cranes and derricks in construction. GAO found that (1) the rule revises the Cranes and Derricks Standard and related sections of the Construction Standard to update and specify industry work practices necessary to protect employees during the use of cranes and derricks in construction; and (2) OSHA complied with applicable requirements in promulgating the rule.
