GAO reviewed the Department of Homeland Security, Bureau of Customs and Border Protection's (CBP) new rule on importer security filing and additional carrier requirements. GAO found that (1) the interim final rule requires importers and carriers of cargo into the United States to submit certain information about that cargo to the CBP; and (2) CBP complied with applicable requirements in promulgating the rule.
