Highlights

The widow of a deceased Air Force member requested reconsideration of her claim for an increased Survivor Benefit Plan annuity, contending that she should have been entitled to the full amount of the annuity, since she filed her claim as soon as she detected the accounting error. GAO held that the claimant was not entitled to the increased annuity, since the remaining portion of her claim was more than 6 years old and was barred under statutory limitations. Accordingly, the claim was denied.
