[Air Force Member's Claim for Waiver of Retroactive Pay Deductions]
Highlights
An Air Force officer requested reconsideration of his request for waiver of retroactive pay deductions incident to his reinstatement into the Air Force, contending that: (1) the deduction of his interim civilian earnings was incorrect; and (2) he was entitled to receive full military pay due to his improper discharge. GAO held that the: (1) officer was not entitled to recover his retroactive pay deductions, since he was clearly informed that acceptance of the settlement barred his pursuit of future claims against the government; and (2) Air Force correctly computed the amount payable to the officer in accordance with prior decisions and applicable Air Force regulations. Accordingly, the original decision was affirmed.
