A transferred Bureau of Land Management employee claimed reimbursement for real estate sales expenses she incurred, contending that: (1) she was entitled to 100-percent reimbursement, since her husband was awarded sole ownership of the residence in his divorce decree; and (2) the court issued an amended divorce decree to correct the attorney's failure to provide a quit-claim deed from his former wife. GAO held that the employee was entitled to 50-percent reimbursement of her real estate sales expenses, since the record did not clearly show that she had 100-percent interest in the residence prior to notice of her transfer. Accordingly, the claim was partially denied.
