Highlights

A firm protested a Marine Corps solicitation for collapsible fabric fuel tanks, contending that a requirement for coated fabric: (1) was not achievable; and (2) overstated the government's needs. GAO held that: (1) none of the other bidders took exception to the coated fabric requirement, indicating that the requirement was achievable; and (2) the Marine Corps reasonably based its requirement on national defense and human safety. Accordingly, the protest was denied.
