A firm protested an Air Force contract award for a bone marrow transplant system, contending that the awardee's alternate product was technically unacceptable, since it failed to meet specified salient characteristics. GAO held that the: (1) Air Force reasonably determined that the awardee's product was technically acceptable; and (2) protester was not prejudiced by the Air Force's waiver of minor, immaterial requirements. Accordingly, the protest was denied.
