[Protest of Air Force Contract Awards for Missile Rail Launchers]
Highlights
A firm protested two Air Force contract awards for missile rail launchers, contending that: (1) the award exceeded the specified maximum quantity; (2) the Air Force improperly evaluated its bid; and (3) a conflict of interest existed, since a former Air Force procurement official accepted employment with the awardee prior to the issuance of the solicitation. GAO held that: (1) although the award exceeded the specified quantity, the protester was not prejudiced, since it would not have been in line for the award; (2) the Air Force properly evaluated the protester's bid; and (3) there was no evidence that the former Air Force official had any influence on the contract award. Accordingly, the protest was denied.
