Questions were addressed regarding a widow's entitlement to a Survivor Benefit Plan annuity, since the deceased Navy officer requested termination of his beneficiary election, alleging that the signature had been forged. It was determined that the claim should be honored, since the: (1) marriage was legal; (2) decedent accepted the annuity deductions over an extended period of time; and (3) decedent did not pursue the termination even after he was advised of the appropriate termination procedures.
