An Air Force employee appealed a claim settlement for reimbursement of lodging expenses he incurred during temporary duty travel. GAO held that the Air Force properly recovered the amounts previously paid to the employee when it determined that the employee: (1) falsified travel vouchers; (2) did not make payment for actual lodging expenses before he sought reimbursement; and (3) had no legitimate basis to claim reimbursement for lodging expenses he incurred during temporary duty travel. Accordingly, the decision was sustained.
