The Forest Service requested a decision regarding an employee's claim for compensatory damages pursuant to a discrimination settlement as a result of its failure to relocate the claimant under a spousal placement program. GAO held that: (1) federal employees were not entitled to compensatory damage reimbursement; and (2) the claimant should reimburse the Service for administrative leave and travel and relocation expenses that the Service erroneously reimbursed to her. Accordingly, the claim was denied.
