Highlights

The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) requested whether an employee was entitled to reimbursement for real estate expenses he incurred through the purchase of a residence in connection with his transfer. GAO held that the employee was not entitled to reimbursement for the real estate expenses, since he commuted between the residence and his official work station only on weekends. Accordingly, the claim was denied.
