[Request for Review of Claims Group's Settlement of Army Corps of Engineers Employee's Claim for Additional Per Diem and Overtime Compensation]

An Army employee claimed reimbursement for overtime and additional per diem in connection with overseas travel, contending that he: (1) was authorized a 2-day rest stop on his return trip; and (2) worked the same hours as another employee who received overtime compensation. GAO held that the Army: (1) only authorized the rest stop on the return trip as a personal convenience; and (2) did not authorize the overtime in advance. Accordingly, the claim was denied.
