Highlights

The National Park Service requested a decision regarding an employee's entitlement to per diem for 1-day trips involving over 10 hours of travel with no overnight stay. GAO held that the employee was not entitled to per diem, since he worked a first 40-hour workweek and regulations prohibited the payment of per diem to employees qualifying solely because they worked a non-standard workday. Accordingly, the employee was not entitled to per diem.
