Highlights

The Department of Labor requested an opinion on the application of a regulation governing per diem for travel of less than 24 hours without lodging to employees who work a "first 40-hour workweek." GAO found that Labor is correct in applying the regulation to its employees on a first 40-hour workweek schedule for purposes of determining if per diem may be allowed.
