Highlights

The Navy requested a decision concerning a transferred employee's entitlement to reimbursement for damages which could occur to his personal vehicle because only leaded fuel would be available at his new duty station. GAO held that the applicable statutes and regulations did not allow reimbursement for repair costs for a personal vehicle as a miscellaneous expense. Accordingly, the Navy should not reimburse the employee.
