The Bureau of Reclamation requested a decision regarding whether it should reimburse a Bureau of Land Management employee claim for real estate expenses he incurred incident to his temporary assignment with a state agency under the Intergovernmental Personnel Act of 1970. GAO held that the: (1) act did not authorize reimbursement for expenses other than those incurred for travel and relocation; and (2) Federal Travel Regulations did not authorize reimbursement for real estate expenses at a temporary duty station. Accordingly, the claim was denied.
