A firm protested a General Services Administration (GSA) contract award for office chairs, contending that GSA should have given its domestic product an evaluation preference. GAO held that GSA was not required to apply an evaluation preference since the Buy American Act did not apply to the contracts involving designated countries and the award price for the product was $156,000 or more. Accordingly, the protest was dismissed.
