Highlights

The Department of Commerce requested a decision regarding an employee's claim for travel and transportation expenses incident to his temporary duty. The claimant contended that, although he traveled in his own vehicle and stayed with a relative, he was entitled to reimbursement for the full amount of his subsistence expenses. GAO held that the agency properly limited his reimbursement to the actual expenses he incurred. Accordingly the claim was denied.
