Right to Basic Pay

The Acting Secretary of the Navy requested GAO to determine what rate of pay Marine Corps and Naval officers should receive while serving as Assistant Judge Advocates General of the Navy. Under the provisions of the Defense Officer Personnel Management Act, officers serving as Assistant Judge Advocates General of the Navy are entitled only to the basic pay of the commissioned grades which they actually hold.
