Highlights

Pursuant to a congressional request, GAO reviewed whether the administrative structure of the Department of Health and Human Service's (HHS) Administration on Aging (AOA) complies with the provisions of the Older Americans Act of 1965. GAO found that HHS has revised its organization to comply with the act's restrictions on the delegation of functions of the AOA Commissioner. The revisions were in accordance with earlier GAO recommendations.
