Highlights

GAO agreed to review the appropriateness of the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) procedures in suspending most uses of the pesticides 2, 4, 5-T, and silvex, and initiating cancellation procedures on all uses of these pesticides. GAO also agreed to consider whether Congress needs to amend the Insecticide, Fungicide and Rodenticide Act to assure that EPA uses fair and equitable procedures when deciding to suspend or cancel a pesticide. The preliminary findings of the review will be orally presented by the end of April 1980.
