Appropriated Funds May Not Be Used for Entertainment Expenses

Highlights

Funds appropriated for the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) may not be used to pay the expenses of a reception for Hispanic leaders held at the invitation of the Chair of the Commission in conjunction with a planning conference. There is no entertainment provision in EEOC's appropriation act, and the authority of EEOC to conduct educational and promotional activities is not broad enough to include expenses for entertainment.
