Highlights

A decision was requested concerning the possible reimbursement for the cost of shipping an employee's privately owned vehicle incident to transfer from San Diego, California, to Denver, Colorado. Even though the employee was authorized the use of a second automobile, the employee's authorization only extended to actual use of the vehicle for transportation purposes. Since the employee's spouse and children traveled by air and shipped the second car by commercial carrier, the employee's claim was denied.
